There's a few books I keep avoiding. They're sitting on my shelf and I can't help feeling guilty that they're still there, unread.
The books are:
IT by Stephen King
Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Little Women by Louise M Alcott
I really want to sit down and read these. But I wasn't enjoying Pride and Prejudice and so gave up half way through the book. The size of Stephen King's IT, puts me off. Little Women was boring so I gave up, and Mists of Avalon, I was enjoying but I stopped reading it to read Anne Rice's Interview with a Vampire, and didn't go back to Mists.
So after I have read Philip Pullmans His dark material series, I shall challenge myself to get through these books once and for all!!!!
But I am slowly also making my way through the Lord of the Rings series, so it's gonna be a while!!! LOL

Good luck getting through those 4. I really like Mists of Avalon and Pride and Prejudice. IT was ok as well but it was such a long time ago that I read it.
Hope you get to go back to Mists, I'm going to try ad re-read that this year.
Oh I am Clare. The thing is I was really enjoying it when I started it. But when a friend sent me Interview with a vampire, I couldn't resist. And then when I went back to Mists, I just couldn't get into it. But I am going to read it. ;)
You'll love It - I spent years trying to get a hold of a copy, afer I started reading it whilst in a 24 hour queue for a Bryan Ferry concert. It took me three years to find it and finish it! *LOL* Yes, it was worth the wait.
Pride and Prejudice I re-read regularly. Its a fabulously funny book, though you might not think that from the movie renditions.
Little Women is one of my all-time favourite, childhood books. As a lover of books, you are sure to identify with Jo. Do have some tissues handy though; it can get weepy and sentimental.
The only one I didn't like on your list was Mists of Avalon - it has the dubios honour of being one of those few books I have never been able to finish - it was painful to the point I had to refrain from torturing my mind further and I promptly sold the book on. Do write a review if you read it.
Don't you hate when you know you probably *will* like a book but just can't get in the mood?
I love P&P. But my favorite Austen is Persuasion. I also liked Mists of Avalon, but I don't know if I'd enjoy reading it again. It did kick off an on-again, off-again fascination with Arthurian legend, though!
